Oscar Rapin (politician)
Oscar Rapin (born October 9, 1870 in Lausanne ; † January 16, 1941 there ) was a Swiss politician . He was reformed .
biography
Rapin received his doctorate in law from the University of Lausanne in 1894 . He worked as a lawyer . The artist Aimée Rapin was his sister.
From 1897 to 1941 he was a member of the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud , initially as a liberal and later as a social democrat. In 1933 he was President of the Grand Council. From 1898 to 1913 and from 1918 to 1941 he was a member of the municipal council , the city parliament of Lausanne, which he presided over in 1899. In directional battles within the Vaudois SP , the right wing split off in 1909. Oscar Rapin founded the socialistes-nationaux group with Adolphe Gavillet . They came closer and closer to the bourgeois parties and disappeared in 1945. From 1901 to 1939 Rapin was editor of the magazine Le Grutli , which from 1909 was the publication organ of the Socialistes-nationaux .
