Soccer
When all sports clubs had to be dissolved after the Second World War by order of the occupying powers and sports competitions were initially only allowed at district level, athletes founded the Oschersleben sports community in the then district town of Oschersleben, which had around 18,000 inhabitants. Your soccer team took part in sports in the Oschersleben district as early as 1946. In 1948 national sports traffic was possible again, and in the final table of the state class Saxony-Anhalt North 1948/49 the SG Oschersleben is mentioned in 7th place.
With the introduction of the system of company sports associations (BSG) in East Germany between 1949 and 1950, the previous sports association Oschersleben was transformed into BSG Motor Oschersleben. The designation "engine" indicates that local machine and vehicle construction companies had taken over the function of supporting companies . After the abolition of the federal states in the GDR in favor of new districts in 1952, district leagues were set up as the third class in football after the Oberliga and the GDR league . Motor Oschersleben belonged to the top division of the district of Magdeburg in its premiere season and reached 6th place in the 1952/53 season however, the descent into the district class, which was fifth at the time. In the following year, the sponsorship of the BSG was transferred to the GDR border troops stationed in Oschersleben, so that the football team took on the name Vorwärts Oschersleben after the recovery in the 1961/62 season. In 1964 the sponsorship was expanded to include civilian businesses, and the BSG again took on a new name with "Motor / Vorwärts".
For nine years, the Oschersleben team belonged to the Magdeburg District League, mostly in the upper half of the table. In 1972 the team won the district championship and was thus qualified for the second-rate GDR league. However, their squad was not up to the demands of the second division, so that after the last place in the league season C 1972/73 the immediate relegation back to the district league followed. With the exception of the 1978/79 season, when it had to be played in the district class after relegation, the BSG Motor / Forward remained in the Magdeburg district league until 1991 when the GDR football game was stopped.
After the introduction of the DFB structure and the transformation of the BSG into the Oscherslebener Sportclub, its soccer team played in the last fifth-class association league of Saxony-Anhalt until 1996 . Since then, the footballers of Oscherslebener SC have played in the Landesliga Sachsen-Anhalt, from which they returned to the association league in 2009, now in sixth class. After the OSC ended up on a relegation zone after the 2015/16 season, the club waived the right to start in the state league and entered the eight-class state class for the 2016/17 season.
