Oskar Mathias
Oskar Mathias (born March 22, 1900 in Jablonitza , Galicia , † February 4, 1969 in Graz ) was an Austrian astronomer .
Life
Mathias studied physics and astronomy , received his doctorate in 1926 and later worked for Victor Franz Hess . In 1933 he completed his habilitation in astronomy and was professor of astronomy at the University of Graz from 1965 until his death .
He is buried in the St. Leonhard Cemetery in Graz . His estate is in the possession of the Graz University Library .
