Bror Oskar Textorius (born April 8, 1864 in Kristianstad , † March 20, 1938 in Gothenburg ) was a Swedish actor , singer and theater director.

Career

From 1887, Textorius was a member of the ensemble in various theater groups that toured the Swedish and Finnish provinces. He played in the Volkstheater ( Folkteatern ) in Stockholm in 1896 . Between 1899 and 1901 he was on tour with his own operetta production. From 1911 to 1918 he played operettas at the Oscar Theater in Stockholm. From 1920 Textorius played at the Stora Teatern (also: Storan ) in Gothenburg and became its director in 1937.

Since 1907 he has made over a hundred sound recordings. He made his film debut in 1911 together with his third wife Ester Textorius (née Pettersson ) in Anna Hofman-Uddgren's short film Stockholmsfrestelser . He played in a total of six films.

Life

Textorius was married three times. His first wife was the actress Georgina Sandell with whom he had his daughter Elsa Textorius . He was married to his second wife, the actress Svea Johansson , from 1900 to 1904. In his last marriage from 1904 to 1938 he was married to Esther Pettersson , who was also an actress.
