Oskar Ufert
Oskar Ufert (born January 22, 1876 in Frankfurt am Main ; † April 13, 1952 there ) was a German sculptor .
Life
Oskar Ufert was a student of Wilhelm Schwind (1853–1906) from 1891 to 1899 and then until 1901 a student of Josef Keller (1849–). From 1901 to 1903 he worked in the atelier of Cuno von Uechtritz-Steinkirch (1856–1908). He then returned to Frankfurt am Main, interrupted by a trip to Rome , which he began in 1904.
In 1913 he won the competition for a fountain on Kurfürstenplatz, which was not initially carried out. After the First World War , Ufert was able to complete the fountain in a reduced form. This has now been set up in Zeppelin-Allee. Ufert also created the Frankfurt Rohmerplatz war memorial, inaugurated in 1925.
Oskar Ufert was a member of the Künstlerbund . He exhibited there several times.
