Oskar von Siegfried

Oskar von Siegfried (born January 24, 1920 in Vorderwalde near Braunsberg (Ostpr.) ; † June 4, 2011 in Bad Godesberg ) was a German diplomat .

Life

Oskar von Siegfried was born on Gut Vorderwalde in the Heiligenbeil district in East Prussia . After military service (First Lieutenant in the Infantry Regiment 1) he was Agronomist , in this subject his doctorate and later in the diplomatic service General . He lived in Bad Godesberg.

In 2007 Oskar von Siegfried erected a memorial stone (inscription: "Gut Carben - Prigorkino, Siegfried 1764–1945") in a wood near the former family estate Gut Carben, which was razed after the war . This is located as Prigorkino in what is now the Russian part of East Prussia, not far from Vorderwalde ( Podleśne ), which is now in the Polish part due to the close border being drawn.
