The bee Osmia stone manni is a solitary wild bee of the genus genus Osmia and a rare representative of the group of mason bees (Family Megachilidae) and was recognized as a separate species only of 2002. It is eight to ten millimeters long and is distinguished from the closely related and similar Osmia inermis primarily by the mandibular teeth.

So far it has only been observed in the Alpine regions of eastern Switzerland . Female and male individuals were caught on the Ebenalp, Altenalp and Fälalp (in the region of Säntis , Appenzell Innerrhoden ). Other male individuals have also been collected in Avers ( Graubünden ).
