Osmo Karjalainen (born February 2, 1940 in Ii ; † April 5, 2013 in Kuusamo ) was a Finnish cross-country skier .

Career

Karjalainen took third place over 15 km at the Lahti Ski Games in March 1966. In 1969 he was third with the relay at the Svenska Skidspelen . At the end of February 1970 he triumphed over 15 km at the Lahti Ski Games. and won the 15 km Holmenkollen Ski Festival the following year . In his only Olympic participation in February 1972 in Sapporo , he was tenth over 15 km and fifth with the relay. The following month he finished third over 15 km at the Lahti Ski Games. In his last international competition at the Nordic World Ski Championships in 1974 in Falun , he achieved fourth place with the relay.
