Lubey is a French commune with 228 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). The municipality is part of the Briey arrondissement and the Pays de Briey canton (until 2015: Briey canton ). The people of Lubey are called Aulnois .

Lubey is about 14 miles west-southwest of Thionville . Lubey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lantéfontaine in the north and east, Les Baroches in the east and southeast, Ozerailles in the south and Fléville-Lixières in the west.
