Tiercelet (German: Lahr , Luxembourgish: Däitsch-Lahr ) is a French commune with 655 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ).

The districts of Cussange and Bourenne belong to Tiercelet . Neighboring municipalities are Hussigny-Godbrange in the north, Thil in the northeast, Villerupt in the east, Bréhain-la-Ville in the south and Villers-la-Montagne in the west. Tiercelet also owned a station on the Valleroy – Villerupt railway line .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1169 as Lare . Then: Leirs-le-Tyoix (1333), Lar (1528), Tiercelet (1793).

Michel Brier has been mayor since 2001. Local elections will be held in 2014.
