Landres is a French commune with 974 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (before 2016: Lorraine ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Briey and the canton of Pays de Briey (until 2015: canton of Audun-le-Roman ). The inhabitants are called Landrus .

Landres is about 43 kilometers southwest of Luxembourg and 30 kilometers west-southwest of Thionville . Landres is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Preuthin-Higny in the north, Murville in the north-east, Mont-Bonvillers in the east, Mairy-Mainville in the south-east, Norroy-le-Sec in the south, Piennes in the west and south-west and Domprix in the west.
