Saint-Ail is a French commune with 424 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (before 2016: Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Briey and the Canton of Jarny (until 2015: Canton of Homécourt ). The inhabitants are called Moinvillois .

Saint-Ail is about 18 kilometers northwest of Metz . Saint-Ail is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sainte-Marie-aux-Chênes in the north and east, Amanvillers in the south-east, Vernéville in the south, Jouaville in the west and south-west and Batilly in the west.
