Val de Briey is a French commune with 8,228 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region . It is part of the Arrondissement Briey , of which it is the capital , and the canton of Pays de Briey .

geography

Val de Briey is about 15 miles southwest of Thionville . The municipality is IVOM River Woigot crosses. Val de Briey is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bettainvillers and Avril in the north, Moyeuvre-Grande in the east, Jœuf and Moutiers in the south, Les Baroches in the south-west, Lantéfontaine in the west, Anoux in the west and north-west and Tucquegnieux in the north-west.

On January 1, 2017, the municipalities of Briey , Mance and Mancieulles were merged to form a Commune nouvelle .
