Bazailles is a French commune with 142 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (before 2016 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Briey and is part of the canton of Mont-Saint-Martin (until 2015 Villerupt ).

Bazailles is located about 28 kilometers west-northwest of Thionville and 15 kilometers south of Longwy near the border area with Belgium and Luxembourg . Bazailles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Baslieux in the north, Ville-au-Montois in the east, Joppécourt in the southeast, Mercy-le-Bas in the south and Boismont in the west.
