Audun-le-Roman ( German Welsch-Oth ) is a French commune with 2,462 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Briey and the Canton of Pays de Briey (until 2015: Canton of Audun-le-Roman ).

Audun-le-Roman, differentiated from Audun-le-Tiche by its name affix , is located about 18 kilometers west of Thionville and 15 kilometers south of the border with Luxembourg at an altitude between 320 and 396 m above sea level. The municipality covers 7.57 km².
