Mercy-le-Bas is a French commune with 1,278 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Meurthe-et-Moselle department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Lorraine ). The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Briey and the canton of Pays de Briey (until 2015: canton of Audun-le-Roman ).

Mercy-le-Bas is about 50 kilometers southwest of Luxembourg . The northern boundary of the municipality forms the Crusnes . Mercy-le-Bas is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Boismont in the north and northwest, Bazailles in the north, Joppécourt in the east, Mercy-le-Haut in the southeast, Xivry-Circourt in the south, Saint-Supplet in the west and Han-devant-Pierrepont in the Northwest.
