Farra d'Isonzo Observatory

The Farra d'Isonzo Observatory (Osservatorio Astronomico di Farra d'Isonzo) is an Italian observatory in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region . It is located in the municipality of Farra d'Isonzo at an altitude of 56  m above sea level. NN and is operated by the Circolo Culturale Astronomico di Farra d'Isonzo , an association of amateur astronomers .

The observatory was established in 1969 with the construction of the first observatory and formally opened in 1975. It bears the IAU number 595.

Instruments used

The observatory uses the following instruments:

  • Reflector telescope with a diameter of 400 mm, which can be configured as a Newton or Cassegrain telescope. The focal length with the Newton configuration is 1.8 m, when used in the Cassegrain mode it is 7 m
  • Reflector telescope with a diameter of 150 mm and a focal length of 2.25 m
  • Newtonian telescope with a diameter of 300 mm and a focal length of 1.2 m
  • Dobsonian telescope with a diameter of 250 mm and a focal length of 1.25 m
