Easter Church
The Roman Catholic Osterkircherl or the chapel for the resurrection stands on the Osterkogel in the market town of St. Aegyd am Neuwalde in the Lilienfeld district in Lower Austria . The chapel is a listed building .
history
The chapel was built in 1851 by Kaspar Täubl. The Kircherl was made widely known by the fact that Edeltraud Fulda (1916–2003) (Haidinger married from 1968), who was cured of an incurable disease in Lourdes in 1950 , had it renovated. After the healing, which was recognized as a miracle by Cardinal Archbishop Innitzer of Vienna on May 18, 1955, Edeltraud Fulda vowed to build a chapel near Mariazell . For lack of a suitable place, she decided to renovate the church, which had also been built on the basis of a vow in a serious illness.
The chapel, built in 1851, was restored and partly renewed in 1938, 1950, 1971.
architecture
The small church building has a roof turret with an onion helmet.
Furnishing
The altar, the two windows and the mural Easter picture with pelican and phoenix behind the altar were created in 1971 by Robert Herfert on behalf of Father Leo (Wilhelm Ketelaars). On the left there is a carved copy of the Mariazell Madonna from the 19th century and a stone from the Lourdes grotto in a black metal frame. On the right is a relic of St. Bernadette , surrounded by an oil painting by Florian Jakowitsch .
