Ignace Nazaire Oswald Pilloud (born July 27, 1873 in Châtel-Saint-Denis , † July 6, 1946 in Freiburg ) was a Swiss painter .

Life

Oswald Pilloud was born in Châtel-Saint-Denis in 1873 . Between 1896 and 1899 he attended the Technicum in Freiburg, where he had the famous painter Ferdinand Hodler as a teacher. There he studied with Raymond Buchs , Hiram Brülhart and Jean-Edouard de Castella . Then he went to Paris and studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière and the Académie Colarossi .

After his return from France in 1905, he taught drawing at the Technicum in Freiburg. Two years later he became a member of the Society of Swiss Painters, Sculptors, Architects and Visual Artists.
