Oswestry Town

Oswestry Town (officially: Oswestry Town Football Club ) was an English football club from Oswestry , Shropshire . The club, founded in 1860, dissolved in 1988, re-established in 1993, it merged in 2003 to become Total Network Solutions FC .

Founded in 1860, the club was a founding member of the Football Association of Wales in 1876 and played in both English and Welsh football due to its proximity to Wales. The club reached the first main round of the FA Cup four times and was three times in the semifinals of the Welsh Cup . In league operations, the original club played in the Birmingham & District League (1924-1959), the Cheshire County League (1959-1975), the Southern League (1975-1979) and most recently in the Northern Premier League (1979-1988). After the re-establishment in 1993, the club took part in the Welsh league system and played from 2000 to 2003 in the highest national class, theLeague of Wales . In the summer of 2003, the financially troubled club joined with Llansantffraid FC , which had been running under the new name Total Network Solutions FC for a few years .
