Otakar Batlička
Otakar Batlička (born March 12, 1895 in Prague ; † February 13, 1942 in Mauthausen concentration camp ) was a Czech radio amateur , globetrotter, writer and resistance fighter against National Socialism .
Batlička traversed a large part of the world, and his travels were the cornerstone of his adventure stories, which he wrote mostly for young people. For the most part, he described his experiences, which he supplemented with stories from the people he met. After the occupation of the country and the creation of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia , he became a member of the national resistance. As a radio amateur , he was mainly responsible for the constant contact of the resistance in the Czech Republic and London. He was captured in 1942 and shot in Mauthausen concentration camp in February.
