Othrys

The Othrys ( Greek Όθρυς ( f. Sg. )) Is a mountain range in Greece , south of the Thessalian plain.

The Othrys extends as a ridge over about 30 kilometers in length from west to east on the border between the Greek regions of Thessaly and central Greece . The highest point is  the Othrys or Gerakovouni (Γερακοβούνι) at 1726  m . To the north, on the Thessalian side, borders the Gouras mountain range , which rises to 1,454  m .

In Greek mythology , the Othrys was a site of the titan fights , which is located in the north of the Thessalian plain. From the Othrys, the Titans fought against the Kronids , who had holed up on Mount Olympus .
