Otites lamed is a species from the family of flies (Ulidiidae).

features

The flies reach a body length of 5 to 10 millimeters. The thorax is densely dusted with gray, the mesonotum has two fine, brown longitudinal stripes. The abdomen is also covered in gray. Her head is yellow and is densely whitish everywhere except on the middle of the forehead and on the lower face. The middle of the forehead is flanked with brownish colored stripes. There are more brown stripes on the upper part of the cheeks, from the edge of the eyes to the lower edge of the cheeks. Both the swinging bulbs ( holders ) and the legs are colored yellow. There are three dark spots on the front edge of the wings, the apical edge is just as dark. The veins are dark in color near the rear edge of the wing .

Occurrence and way of life

The animals are found in southern and central Europe. They can be seen in the summer at the edge of the forest, rich in bushes.
