The Otterburg is the rest of a hilltop castle at 324  m above sea level. NN on the Schlossberg above the Otterberg Abbey Church in the town of Otterberg in the Kaiserslautern district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The early medieval castle, which resembled a Carolingian / Ottonian fortification, was probably conquered in 1116 and first mentioned in 1144 as "castro Oterburc". In 1145 the castle was converted into a Cistercian monastery . The gentlemen von Kesselberg are named as former owners. Only small remnants of ramparts and walls have survived from the former castle.
