Otto Abel (composer)
Otto Abel (born October 24, 1905 in Berlin , † September 21, 1977 in Tettnang , Baden-Württemberg ) was a German organist , cantor, composer, publisher and Evangelical regional church music director .
Life
Abel was from 1930 to 1970 cantor and organist at the Immanuel Church in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg , from 1959 also regional church music director for the eastern region of the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg and since 1956 church music editor at the Protestant publishing house in Berlin (East).
Abel composed several hymns and works for the organ.
He died on a trip in Tettnang.
