Otto Appel (biologist)

Gustav Adolf Otto Appel (born January 3, 1897 in Würzburg , † 1976 ) was a German biologist .

Life

He was the son of the later secret government councilor Otto Appel and his wife Anna, née Schauffert. After attending grammar school in Berlin - interrupted by the First World War - he embarked on a career similar to that of his father. In 1934 he became director of the Institute for Plant Diseases and the Main Office for Plant Protection in Landsberg (Warthe) .

Otto Appel was a member of the Reich Association of German Certified Farmers (RDL).
