Otto Bishop

Otto Maria Josef Bischof (born January 14, 1904 in Kehl ; † March 6, 1978 in Rickenbach ) was a German local politician ( CDU ).

The son of a Reichsbahn chief inspector attended a humanistic grammar school from 1913 to 1922. From 1922 to 1925 he studied law and political science. After passing the second legal service examination, he was a government assessor at several tax offices. On January 1, 1933, he was appointed to the government council of the Singen (Hohentwiel) tax office . In November 1933 he moved to the Bremerhaven tax office and in 1934 to the regional tax office in Bremen. In 1940, Bishop was employed at the Marienburg tax office for a few months before moving to the regional tax office in Gdansk-West Prussia on September 1, 1940. From 1944 to 1945 he did military service with the interpreting company in Hameln. As a member of the government, he then worked at the Villingen District Office and the Donaueschingen District Office. From 1949 to 1968 he was the district administrator of the Säckingen district in Baden . In 1968 he retired.

A high relief by the sculptor Josef Obeth at the trade school in Rheinfelden, which opened in 1960, shows his portrait.
