Paul Henkel

Paul Ludwig Henkels (born October 31, 1892 in Barmen , † August 26, 1973 in Hanover ) was a German veterinarian and university professor.

Life

Henkels studied veterinary and human medicine at the University of Berlin , the University of Veterinary Medicine Hanover and in Munich. In 1914 he became a member of the Cheruscia Hanover fraternity . In 1921 he received his doctorate in Hanover with contributions to the teaching of the age of the horse's teeth . From 1925 to 1927 he taught as a private lecturer at the University of Veterinary Medicine in Hanover, was then appointed associate professor and in 1928 full professor for veterinary surgery and surgical studies and at the same time director of the university's surgical clinic. From 1950 to 1952 he was rector of the university. In 1951 he was a founding member of the German Veterinary Society . In 1961 he was retired.
