Otto Broschek

Otto Broschek (born September 17, 1902 in Vienna , † April 9, 1978 in Salzburg ) was the director of the Wiener Donauhafen Gesellschaft and co-founder of Gebro Pharma GmbH.

After graduating from the 1st Vienna Commercial Academy , he was initially an official of the Austrian Depositenbank (1921–1932), head of the publishing bookshop and office of the "German Association for Alcohol-Free Culture" in Vienna and then settled in Merano in South Tyrol for two years about where he became an employee in his father-in-law's pharmacy .

From 1927 to 1929 he was an authorized signatory and branch manager of the hemp, jute and sheep wool company Xaver Moosbrugger in Vienna, which had its headquarters in Bregenz ( Vorarlberg ).

Otto Broschek then managed the En Gros department of his father-in-law's pharmacy until 1939, where he took over a number of general agencies (production and sale) of chemical-pharmaceutical products from Germany for Italy and its colonies .

In 1940 Otto Broschek became head of the Wiener Donauhafen Gesellschaft and was thus responsible for the expansion and operation of the ports in Vienna . In 1944, however, he had to enlist in the German armed forces .

After a brief captivity in 1945, he and his family moved to Fieberbrunn , where he founded Gebro Pharma GmbH in 1947 together with his wife Grete Broschek and the current owners Herbert and Helga Broschek.

Otto Broschek died on April 9, 1978 in the Salzburg hospital . He was buried in Fieberbrunn.
