Otto Bruchwitz

Otto Bruchwitz (born April 2, 1877 in Rothemühl , Western Pomerania , † October 12, 1956 in Hammer ad Uecker ) was a German educator and local researcher .

Life

Otto Bruchwitz was a teacher by profession. In Western Pomerania he has made a name for himself as a local researcher. Over 100 volumes of his work on Western Pomerania, etc. a. for the area around Torgelow can be viewed in the Greifswald State Archives . These are family history sources for the Ueckermünde district , copies of church registers, civil registers and genealogical collections. Otto-Bruchwitz-Straße in Torgelow is named after him.

Otto Bruchwitz died at the age of 79 on October 12, 1956 in Hammer ad Uecker, and on October 16, 1956, he was buried in Rothemühl. A memorial stone in the cemetery in Rothemühl commemorates the local historian and his ancestors.
