Otto Dürr (Carnivalist)

Otto Dürr (born January 11, 1929 in Mainz ; † November 28, 2011 there ) was a German fast night from Mainz . Dürr and his partner Georg Berresheim performed for 30 years, from 1952 to 1982, as the cleaning duo Fraa Babbisch and Fraa Struwwelich . Dürr mimed the somewhat clumsier Fraa Babbisch .

Life

Otto Dürr was an administrative clerk in the civilian profession and worked as such first in the Mainz city administration, then at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and finally as a personnel administrator at ZDF . In 1965 Dürr took the step into self-employment and opened an artist agency. Dürr and Berresheim were so successful with their portrayal of the two cleaning women that they also appeared in these roles outside of the carnival season.
