Otto F. Card

Otto F. Karde (born July 11, 1907 in Dammstedt ; † January 12, 1993 ) was a German building contractor and honorary chairman of the CDU .

Born in 1907 as the youngest of nine children, Karde completed an apprenticeship as an architect and engineer in Rendsburg at the age of 19 . Karde started his own business at the age of 23 . During the reconstruction in Germany, the engineer designed a machine for producing bricks and debris and built numerous detached and terraced houses in Hamburg in the post-war years . Later, Karde and his company built a large part of the infrastructure (public buildings, roads and highways) in Schleswig-Holstein and the greater Hamburg area .

In 1948 Karde was one of the founding members of the CDU in the Pinneberg district and, in addition to his office in the state parliament, worked from 1955 to 1966 and from 1970 to 1974 as CDU parliamentary group leader in the district council .

As a district councilor (1955–1962), Otto F. Karde helped shape the development of the Pinneberg district. As a deputy , he belonged to the 1962-1967 Schleswig-Holstein parliament to.

Karde was a holder of the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Medal (1974) and the Ludwig-Erhard-Gedenkmünze (1982).
