Otto Fanta

Otto Fanta (born October 26, 1890 in Prague ; † 1940 ) was a teacher and graphologist .

Life

The son of Berta and Max Fanta was a school friend of Franz Werfel , studied philosophy until 1912 and later worked as a secondary school teacher. Around 1922 he wrote the film manuscript for The Basics of Einstein's Theory of Relativity , which - examined by Albert Einstein - almost had been made into a film, but which did not come about due to the Great Depression.

Around 1925 he married Hanne Bobatsch ( Johanna Fantová ; born April 9, 1901 in Brno ; † 1981). In 1929/30 Hanne organized Einstein's personal library in Berlin.

He worked as a graphologist , wrote together with Willy Schönfeld for the journal Die Schrift and took part in the third International Graphological Congress in Paris in 1937. Before the outbreak of World War II , he emigrated to England at the last minute, but lost all of his property.

Fantová emigrated to the USA after his death and was trained as a librarian . She was Einstein's last partner.
