Otto Hembeck

Otto Hembeck (born May 25, 1881 in Lösenbach ; † May 11, 1958 in Lüdenscheid ) was a German entrepreneur and politician ( DVP , DNVP ).

Life and work

Hembeck was born the son of a manufacturer. After attending elementary school, he received private tuition until 1896, then completed a commercial apprenticeship in a metal goods factory in Lüdenscheid and finally continued his self-study course. He then did voluntary military service with a Guards foot artillery regiment. From 1903 to 1906 he worked as a commercial clerk, from 1906 to 1908 as an authorized signatory and manager in a metal goods factory. In 1909 he became the managing co-owner of Noelle & Hueck, a metal goods factory in Lüdenscheid. In addition to his work, he went on numerous business trips at home and abroad.

Hembeck took part in the First World War as a soldier in 1914/15 and was awarded the Iron Cross II. Class and the Cross of Merit for War Aid. In the 1920s and 1930s he was a member of the executive board of the Reichsbund der Deutschen-Metallwaren-Industrie in Berlin .

Otto Hembeck had been married to Alma Dunkel since 1906 , with whom he had two sons and a daughter.

Political party

Hembeck joined the national liberal DVP after the November Revolution and was elected first chairman of the Westphalia South Association. He was also a member of the central association and the party executive committee of the DVP. At his instigation, the DVP-Verband Westfalen-Süd merged with the DNVP in February 1932. He then became a member of the German National.

MP

Hembeck was elected to the German Reichstag in the Reichstag election in July 1932 , to which he was a member until November 1933. He was also a deputy member of the Prussian State Council .
