Otto IV. (Ravensberg)
Otto IV. (* Around 1276; † 1328 ) was Count of Ravensberg from 1306–1328 .
Otto was the fifth child of Count Otto III. and his wife Hedwig zur Lippe (* around 1238; † March 5, 1315), daughter of Bernhard III. born to the lip . He entered the clergy and became canon of Osnabrück in 1293 and canon of Münster on October 24, 1301 . After the death of his father on March 23, 1305, he returned to the secular class.
Marriage and offspring
Otto IV was married to Margaretha von Berg from 1313 . From this marriage there were two daughters:
- Hedwig von Ravensberg, first documented mention 1315, († December 5, 1336); ∞ (before April 7, 1328) Duke Wilhelm II of Braunschweig-Lüneburg
- Margarete von Ravensberg-Berg (* around 1320, † February 13, 1389); ∞ (1338) Gerhard I (VII.) Von Jülich-Berg († May 18, 1360).
After Otto's death, on April 7, 1388, his widow donated a memorial in the collegiate church in Bielefeld , where he is also buried.
