Margarete von Ravensberg-Berg
Margarete von Ravensberg-Berg (* around 1320, † February 19, 1389 ) was the daughter of Count Otto IV of Ravensberg and Margarete von Berg-Windeck, heiress of the counties Berg and Ravensberg . In 1338 she married Gerhard , son of Count Wilhelm V. von Jülich . As a result, Gerhard became Count of Ravensberg and Berg in 1346/48 and founded a branch of the Jülich family with Margarete .
The marriage had three children: Wilhelm , Elisabeth and Margarete .
She is buried with her husband in a prominent place in Altenberg Cathedral , where her magnificent double epitaph has been preserved. Margaretenstrasse in Düsseldorf is named after her.
