Tomb of Margaretha von Windeck (or Elisabeth von Waldeck?)

Margaretha von Berg , also Margaretha von Windeck , (* around 1285 , † 1340 ) was Countess von Ravensberg by marriage .

Life

Margaretha was a daughter of Heinrich von Limburg-Berg Edelherr von Windeck and Agnes , the daughter of Engelbert I von der Mark .

In 1313 she married Otto IV , Count von Ravensberg, son of Otto III. With him she had a daughter Margarete von Ravensberg-Berg , who married Gerhard von Jülich in 1338 . The second daughter Hedwig von Ravensberg († December 5, 1334) was married to Duke Wilhelm von Braunschweig-Lüneburg .

When her husband died in 1328, the county of Ravensberg fell to her brother-in-law Bernhard von Ravensberg . When Bernhard died in 1346, Ravensberg fell to her daughter Margarete. It was last documented in 1339. In the context of the estate settlement of the County of Ravensberg in 1346, she is no longer mentioned because she was probably already dead.

When her brother Adolf VI died. von Berg her daughter inherited the county of Berg in 1348 . This is said to have a tomb in the St. Lambertus Church in Düsseldorf .
