Otto Jenzok

Otto Jenzok (born May 15, 1928 in Delmenhorst ; † January 10, 1984 in Burgwedel ) was a German politician ( CDU ), member of the Lower Saxony state parliament and Lord Mayor of Delmenhorst.

He was the son of Heinrich Jenzok and Marie Jenzok geb. Thume. Otto Jenzok had three siblings, Heinrich, Emma and Anna. His late marriage to Margret had a son, Michael.

After finishing elementary school, Jenzok first attended commercial schools and then an administrative school. From 1943 to 1958 he worked in Delmenhorst for the local city administration. He then worked as an employee of the Wehrhahn Maschinenfabriken company, Delmenhorst.

In 1948 he became a member of the board of directors of the CDU and various CDU associations at district, state and federal level. He became councilor (1961) and later took on other offices as an alderman, senator and chairman of the CDU council group. From 1968 to 1972 he was mayor and from 1976 until his death mayor of the city of Delmenhorst. As such, he campaigned for the city's freedom of circle . On December 9, 1985, he was posthumously made an honorary citizen of the city.

Jenzok was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from May 20, 1963 to June 5, 1967 in the 5th electoral term, from May 27, 1970 to June 20, 1970 in the 6th electoral period and from June 21, 1970 to January 10, 1984 in the 7th to 10th electoral term. He also worked from May 20, 1965 to June 5, 1967 and from July 8, 1970 to January 10, 1984 as secretary of the Lower Saxony state parliament.
