Otto Kämper

Otto Kämper (born July 4, 1882 in Cologne , † January 6, 1962 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German bank manager.

Life

Otto Kämper, in 1906 Dr. jur. doctorate, was initially a lawyer and notary in Müncheberg . He took part in the First World War. After returning from the war, he became mayor of Müncheberg. Through his work in local politics, he gained experience in housing construction. In 1921 he joined the board of GAGFAH . In 1922 he became a senior government councilor in the Free State of Braunschweig . He was also the managing director of Braunschweig GmbH , which was founded on his proposal and which managed the Braunschweig mining property, some domains and the state-owned industrial companies.

Kämper was an important figure in the Deutsche Bau- und Bodenbank, from which Aareal Bank later emerged. From 1923 he was the first director of the board, from 1933 a member of the supervisory board of the bank, until 1943 as its chairman. Kämper was a member of the NSDAP. From 1938 to 1950 he lived in Styria. Through a subsidiary of Deutsche Bau- und Bodenbank in Vienna, he was also involved in Austrian residential construction.

In 1949 he was again a member of the board and from 1950 to 1955 chairman of the board. Until 1962 he was a deputy chairman of the bank's supervisory board. From 1952 to June 29, 1961 he was also a member of the supervisory board of GAGFAH.

Kämper was an expert in the fields of housing construction and housing construction financing, to which he provided a wide range of specialist articles. For these services he was awarded the Great Federal Cross of Merit in 1952.
