In addition to his work as a conductor and singing teacher, Lob was also active as a composer and set many student songs to music:
- As still Arcadia's golden days
- Come on light feet
- I've been studying for ten years now
- At the Rosenwirt at the Grabentor
- Clausthal-Zellerfeld, you fine
- In the evening when the day's work
- Let the glasses ring in resounding rheines
- You have with your simple way
- Glowing with bright fires
- To the German studio
- A wide heart full of love
- There were three lusty companions
- Friends, drink to the fullest
- Hello, host, another mug
- Heidelberg, you youngsters
- Hail to the generation raised by the gods
- Homeland, you youngsters
- In the golden sunshine, in a moon-bright night
- In every full glass of wine
- No tree is mine from your woods
- Do you know the Rhine near Assmannshausen
- Dear city in the linden wreath
- My Munich, you dear city
- Now fresh on the table
- Now leave your brown skirt
- O wonderful youth
- Petriander spoke to the night
- Raven's nest in the dark forest
- She has her heart in faithfulness
- Toast in the juice of the vines
- Be a student when the violets bloom
- Much full cups sounded
- When you're at the desk and tables
- When we sit happily with wine
- Where between green mountains
- Pulls the lad down the street
