Otto Luhde

Otto Luhde (* 1874 in Vienna , † 1957 in Krems an der Donau ) was an Austrian painter .

Luhde studied at the Vienna Academy under Christian Griepenkerl and Eduard Peithner von Lichtenfels . He was a landscape painter and since 1906 professor at the upper secondary school in Krems, where he was able to dedicate himself to the Wachau as a motif. As a co-founder and member of the Wachau Artists Association , later as its long-term president, he was also active in promoting the Wachau as a tourist destination. Some of his works are now in the collection of the Krems City Museum .
