Otto Nilsson
Sven Otto Nilsson (born February 26, 1879 in Gothenburg ; † November 10, 1960 there ) was a Swedish athlete who was successful in javelin throwing at the beginning of the 20th century. Standing in the shadow of Erik Lemming , he only won two Swedish championships in two-armed throwing:
- 1901 (74.97 m)
- 1906 (82.62 m)
He started for the Örgryte IS .
At the IV Summer Olympics in London in 1908 , where javelin throwing was on the program for the first time, he won behind Erik Lemming (gold with 54.83 m) and the Norwegian Arne Halse (silver with 50.58 m) with a performance of 47 , 10 m the bronze medal.
Also at the Olympic V. Summer Games in 1912 in Stockholm he both on single and on beidarmigen javelin participated and achieved positions 10 (49.18 m; width of victories Erik Lemming : 60.64 m) or 8 (88,90 m; victory distance of the Finn Julius Saaristo : 109; 42 m)
