Otto Piffl

Otto Piffl (born January 23, 1866 in Landskron ; † January 23, 1926 there ) was an Austrian oto-rhino-laryngologist .

He studied medicine at the Charles University in Prague and graduated in 1892 with a Dr. med. the course. He then worked as an assistant to the otologist Zoufal. In 1901 he completed his habilitation in otology and rhinology and in 1908 was appointed director and associate professor. In 1923 he became a full professor of otorhinology and thus first full professor for this subject at the German University in Prague . He also founded the Association of German Ear Specialists in Czechoslovakia .
