Otto Schulz-Mehrin

Otto Schulz-Mehrin (born March 23, 1879 in Mehrin ; † after 1945) was a German engineer and author .

Life

The son of the farmer Ferdinand Schulz attended the secondary school in Gardelegen and then completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith in Hamburg . After he received an engineering degree at the Polytechnic in Strelitz . Until 1914 he worked as a designer at the Berliner Maschinenbau-Actien-Gesellschaft formerly L. Schwartzkopff and as an independent contractor in plant engineering.

Schulz-Mehrin had been a member of the Association of German Mechanical and Plant Engineering (VDMA) since 1916, where he was assistant to the head of the price point for mechanical engineering during the First World War . From 1917 to 1919 he was managing director of the committee for manufacturing issues, then until 1921 managing director of the committee for economical manufacturing (AWF) at the German standards committee . From 1921 to 1945 he was the head of business administration at the VDMA.

In addition to his duties at the VDMA, Schulz-Mehrin worked as a consultant for industrial companies. During the Second World War he participated in the standardization of norms at the Business Management Committee of the Reichsgruppe Industrie . He was also a member of the Association of German Engineers . As an author, he has published works in the field of technology.
