Life

Seidemann was the son of a wealthy master carpenter from the now Prussian town of Ruhland. After boarding school in Dresden , he had to learn a trade because the oldest brother had spent a lot of parental money studying mathematics without getting a degree. Otto Seidemann was married to Martha Winkler, who was also born in Ruhland in 1880.

construction company

On April 1, 1895 Otto Seidemann took over the construction business from Adolf Bräutigam in Bad Freienwalde and developed the former steam and cutting mill on Landgraben into a successful inner-city construction company. The construction and planning office was located in 1910 with the living quarters of his family in Bad Freienwalde in the residential and commercial building Gesundbrunnenstrasse 1 (restaurant "Zum Kurfürst"). In front of the new building, the construction and planning office was at Uchtenhagenstrasse 1.

The company, which was resident until 1945, erected numerous buildings in the up-and-coming spa town that still have a decisive impact on the townscape of Bad Freienwalde and the surrounding area. He took over the execution of numerous villas, commercial buildings and public buildings, many of which are now listed as monuments.
