Life

Siegel, the son of a landlord, studied natural sciences at the universities of Freiburg, Munich and Tübingen, then agriculture in Hohenheim , where he received his doctorate in 1936 under Kurt Maiwald with a thesis on the basics of the most efficient manure preparation.
