Otto Siegel (production designer)

Otto Siegel (born May 7, 1897 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania , † August 21, 1962 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American production designer .

Life

Siegel began his career in film crew in 1942 as a property manager , and after a year he had been involved already in more than a dozen feature films, including the war film companies leaping from David Miller ; by the end of the 1940s there were over 80 films. These included Hell of Oklahoma , Alarm in the Pacific and Tarzan and the Blue Valley . In the 1950s the frequency of his work decreased significantly, and he also began working for television for the first time. 1961 he was for Anthony's Western Cimarron along with George W. Davis , Addison Hehr , Henry Grace and Hugh Hunt for the Oscar in the category Best Production Design nominated, but the award went this year to the epic film Spartacus . His last feature film was Sam Peckinpah's Western Sacramento in 1962.
