Otto Siemer
Otto Siemer (born August 4, 1898 in Oldenburg , † November 30, 1972 in Hamburg ) was a German journalist.
Life
During the First World War , Siemer was a lieutenant . After the war he studied economics in Kiel, Berlin and Hamburg. Siemer then worked as an editor for the Hamburger Fremdblatt . After 1945, Siemer was an editor in the newspaper Die Welt . In 1948 he came to the Hamburger Abendblatt , where he was editor-in-chief from 1952 to 1965.
He was the son of Carolus Augustus Siemer and Emma Lucia Hermine Lange. He was married to Grete Goldmann, had two daughters with her, Karin and Ruth, and a son, Gerd. Axel Springer gave the eulogy on his death .
