The Ottsee is a small natural body of water in the urban area of Biesenthal in the Brandenburg district of Barnim . It is located about 950 meters west of the city center in the south of the development on Lanker Straße, about at the level of the north branch of Ruhlsdorfer Straße.
The Ottsee has an area of about half a hectare. The northern bank area is not publicly accessible due to the private properties located there. On the other sides, the lake is surrounded by larger silting zones , which make it very difficult to approach the water.
The almost silted runoff of the lake on its east side leads to the Finow , which flows southeast of the Ottsee. The inflow into the lake is hardly water-bearing anymore due to the silting process.
