Ousman Jammeh

Ousman Jammeh (born August 13, 1953 in Brikama ) is a politician in the West African state of Gambia .

Life

Jammeh earned a Bachelor of Agriculture (B. Agric.) In Agricultural Science from the University of Nigeria in Nsukka in 1980 . In 1981 he graduated from the Finafrica Institute in Milan with a degree in agricultural credit. He then earned a Masters of Arts in Rural Development from the University of East Anglia in Norwich in 1983 . He graduated from the College of Petroleum Studies , Oxford with a degree in petroleum economics .

From 1980, he (the Ministry of Economic Planning and Industrial Development English Ministry of Economic Planning and Industrial Development (MEPID) ) operates. Then from 1992 he was employed in the Ministry of Agriculture ( English Ministry of Agriculture ) first as Deputy State Secretary and from 1994 as State Secretary. Then he moved in 1996 to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Employment ( English Ministry of Trade, Industry and Employment ), 1998 to the Department of State for Works, Communications and Information , 2001 Department of State for Local Government and Lands , 2002 Department of State for Agriculture , in 2004 to the Department of State for Works, Construction, and Infrastructure Development and in 2005 to the Department of State for Agriculture and was employed as State Secretary in each case. From May 2005 to August 2006 he was commissioner (for oil English Commissioner of Petroleum ) in the Office of the President. Then from August 2006 back as State Secretary in the Department of State for Health , from September 2006 at the President's Office.

In September 2007, Jammeh was by President Yahya Jammeh to the cabinet (as Minister of Petroleum, Energy and Natural Resources English Secretary of State for Petroleum, Energy and Mineral Resources ) appointed. In May 2008, the department was renamed the Ministry of Energy. Jammeh was appointed Foreign Minister and successor to Omar Touray from September 11, 2009 to June 2010, when he again took over the Ministry of Energy. His successor as Foreign Minister was Mamadou Tangara .

On 28 June 2010 Jammeh was from his position as Minister of Energy ( English Minister of Energy released) again, the portfolio is initially assigned to the office of the president.
